I am Ty Smith, a writer and researcher.
I created The Journeying to share my research practice centered around Black feminism, Black memory and culture, and self-exploration in real-time. This is a fluid and iterative space that exists with no rules or preconceived ideas of how I should show up. Each offering serves as an invite for you to be in deep study with me as I tend to my curiosity and share my findings in hope that it leads you to your own.
This newsletter is reader-supported, meaning that a lot of my visibility comes from the support of my readers. As an independent writer and researcher, word of mouth allows me to connect with new readers, expand my reach, and continue to do the work I love with support from readers like you. If you enjoy my work, please consider subscribing so you never miss a post. It’s always been a dream to build a sustainable life as a writer / researcher / teacher with support from people who appreciate the work I do. To help me continue doing the work I love with The Journeying feel free to:
Subscribe to my newsletter
Share my work with someone you love.
Send me words of encouragement (my fave)
Whether a kind word, or a coffee, knowing that I am supported on my journey is a blessing. Thank you for being here. I hope you stay awhile. 🫂
